See and taste your way through the city on this adventure packed Lisbon tour. With historic highlights, culinary delights, and local interaction, it´s a unique insight into the heart of this amazing place.
Meet your informative, local guide at historic neighborhood of Mouraria – a melting pot of cultures from far and wide, and a place you wont see on other Lisbon tours. Portugal’s seafaring past has allowed many different cultural influences to contribute to the richness of modern-day Lisbon. Pass small churches, mosques, and shops selling goods from far-flung places.
Learn about Fado (Lisbon’s unique music) and walk past the birthplace of the legendary Maria Severa, Fado’s first superstar who used to sing in Lisbon’s
taverns many years ago. Our Lisbon tour then satisfies your appetite by stopping at a small, hidden bakery where traditional pastries and espresso coffee will provide a tasty pick-me-up and another insight into the local way of life, of which this Lisbon food tour shows you plenty – trust us!
Soak up some Lisbon sightseeing highlights and history while visiting churches and taverns, then stop to taste Portuguese cheese and authentic, locally made marmalade.
Walk past the beautiful Rossio Square (Lisbon’s main square) and find out how much the city has changed since the devastating earthquake of 1755.
Explore the highlights of the cultural and bohemian districts of Chiado, Bairro Alto, and Bica as you travel through Lisbon. We’ll stop off at a gorgeous viewpoint to take in the Lisbon panorama and have a refreshing drink. Next, take a short trip to the Tagus River, the subject of many Portuguese songs and poems. Board a ferry and journey to the picturesque Cacilhas, where Portuguese green wine and freshly-caught seafood await! Enjoy magnificent views from the South Bank, then return to your drop-off point to end this Lisbon tour. From here your local guide will be happy to give you directions back to your accommodation, or recommendations on other places to check out in this area.

Mr. Victor B. from United Kingdom travelled on 21 Nov 2018:
What a fantastic day we had with Pedro. He had so much knowledge of his hometown and led us through the history and lifestyle of Lisbon. We would thoroughly recommend this tour when visiting Lisbon.
Ms. Brenda L. from Ireland travelled on 15 Oct 2018:
We had Rebeka on our tour at 2.30 on Thursday last (11th October) and we found her to be an excellent tour guide. there was 3 in our party and another 3 people on the tour also and I know they loved her also. thank you Rebeka
Mrs. Lesley H. from United Kingdom travelled on 19 Sep 2018:
Our first visit to Lisbon started with the Experience Lisbon tour with Carolina, and it was a fantastic few hours! Carolina was a great guide, giving our small party of 6 some very useful hints and tips about where to go for good food, and more importantly, which types of restaurants to avoid! The walking tour was at a good pace – with plenty of stops en route to talk about Lisbon history, culture and food and to give us useful tips on how to avoid the queues! Carolina pointed out some restaurants which we would have never found without her ; we ate in two of her recommended restaurants and both were fab -great food, good service and extremely good value for money!
The tour included tastings of port, vinho verde and local beer, cheese and marmalade and some lovely fresh prawns. All in all, a fabulous tour to introduce you to the sights and tastes of Lisbon.
Carolina was really informative, personable and helpful – even helping us negotiate the purchase of Metro tickets at the end of the tour (useful when the machine broke down!).
I would recommend anyone going to Lisbon to book this tour – it is a great introduction to the central Baixo-Chaido and Mouraria areas of the city.
Ms. Kristin P. from Canada travelled on 08 Sep 2018:
Dani was awesome, amazing energy and very involved.
Mr. Ivan M. from United Kingdom travelled on 22 Aug 2018:
This ‘walking and food tour’ was a wonderful introduction to what Lisbon is about. Margherita was excellent in providing the right balance of historical information with humour and sufficient stops for the coffee, cakes and other delicious tastings. The time flew bye despite covering a lot of ground. Definitely a quality experience which set us up for the rest of our Lisbon weekend break.
Mr. Kristin W. from USA travelled on 29 Jun 2018:
We toured with Madalena. We had a fantastic day. She is such a personable and engaging lady. I really appreciated the pace of the tour. Although it was originally advertised as 3-4 hours (I think), we spent about 5 hours because each time we’d sit down, we’d all begin chatting and having so much fun that it made sense to pause a bit longer. We felt Madalena really helped us understand the culture of Lisbon and what makes it special.
Mr. Robert G. from Canada travelled on 13 May 2018:
Our guide was able to answer every question we had, she handled the group expertly, making sure she was heard and always making sure no one was left behind and we were safe. The group size was small which alllowed for a personal touch as we walked along. This tour is a great way to be introduced to the area.
Ms. Samantha B. from United Kingdom travelled on 27 Mar 2018:
We did the tapas tour and Miguel was our guide. It rained for the first hour but despite this it was a great experience. Miguel was very knowledgeable about Lisbon and the food and drink we had during the tour and made it fun and interesting. I would recommend it.

Our guide was very informative, friendly and approachable. She answered lots of questions and was knowledgeable and enthusiastic.
I would recommend her as a quide.
Ms. Micheline B. from Canada travelled on 21 Nov 2017:
My only complaint is that I would of liked the opportunity to buy some of the beverage or food tasted on this tour. Being on a cruise ship, I only had a few hours in Lisbon and left without any souvenir.
Mr. Paul R. from USA travelled on 31 Jul 2017:
Would have enjoyed more talk on history and less on transportation info and night life. Missed last part of your due to tour running late.
Ms. Michala C. from USA travelled on 25 Jul 2017:
we absolutely loved our guide! she was so sweet and attentive and the tour was absolutely not to be missed! we learned so much about Lisbon and Portugal and ate lots of delicious foods! we would do it again without hesitation and would recommend this tour to anyone going to Lisbon, whether it be for a few days or a few weeks.
Mr. Local Sales B. from USA travelled on 21 Jul 2017:
Sophia was a fantastic tour guide, very meticulous and patient. She gave an very good introduction to the city. My suggestion would be to have a local drink and a tasting on the third stop at the overlook, instead of a soda/beer.
Mrs. Maite K. from United Kingdom travelled on 01 Jul 2017:
Our guide Pedro Osorio was superb in the history, the folklore and a wonderful tour. I thpurpughly recommend this tour as it made me discover Lisbon in a wonderful and very well explained and lots of fun too.

Mr. John M. from Australia travelled on 18 Apr 2017:
This was our second Urban Adventures tour. Like the first one which was in Rio de Janeiro, this was excellent. Our guide Sofia was superb. her English was exceptional as was her local knowledge and her commitment to making sure our adventure was memorable. The food tasting was sensational and allowed us to not only enjoy the food but also understand why the locals enjoyed it. This excursion also allowed us to see parts of Lisbon city that we would not have visited ourselves, or even known about. We will continue to use Urban Adventures every time we visit another city we have never been to before.
Mr. Michael L. from Australia travelled on 17 Apr 2017:

Pedro Osorio was a brilliant and knowledgable guide. Very friendly, very helpful and very amusing! We had a great tour of Lisbon and experienced things we would never have done on our own. At the end of the tour Pedro helped us plan our activities for our remaining days in Lisbon and went out of his way to ensure we bought the correct tickets for our train journey to Sintra. Lisbon would not have been the same without him!

Open and very friendly guide Sofia who immediately made us feel like we were walking with friends. The amount of information about Portugal and Lisbon was well dosed and there was sufficient time for interaction with Sofia and the other participants in the tour. The beer tasted deliciously after walking up the hill.
Mr. robin f. from France travelled on 03 Sep 2016:
This was one of the best tours we have taken. Although only planned for 4 hours our super guide Helder gave us 5 hours of his time. Nothing was too much trouble for him. The information, food etc were all fantastic.
Ms. Marion N. from United Kingdom travelled on 01 Sep 2016:
Helder was a fantastic tour guide with a great knowledge about Lisbon. Helder’s passion for his city made a big difference to our first day, discovering the Portuguese capital. All our questions were answered in details and the places seen and visited helped us to understand better Lisbon. A delight!
Mr. Dominic M. from Australia travelled on 29 Aug 2016:
Thought it was such a great way to get to know Lisbon and Margarida was such a fantastic guide to show us around. She went above and beyond and I walked away with such a good knowledge of the area and the way of life. All her tips for after the tour proved fantastic too – loved the Pharmacy wine bar and the restaurants she suggested. Thanks again for making it such an awesome visit – wish I had spent more time in Lisbon now.

Our tour was great. Margaricla was a great, professional, knowledgeable and charismatic tour guide.
Mr. Glenn M. from Canada travelled on 02 Jun 2016:
We enjoyed our tour with Pedro very much. He was very knowledgeable about the history of Portugal, enthusiastic, and friendly. He packed a lot into the tour. We stopped at four places – a typical Portuguese bakery to eat custard desserts, the best beer hall in Lisbon (it was once a convent), a seafood restaurant where we got to taste typical Portuguese seafood and vinho verde, and a butcher/cheese shop to try local cheeses and drink a cherry liqueur. I learned a lot about the history of Portugal which I found to be very interesting. If you happen to have Pedro as your guide you will very satisfied with your tour.
Ms. Kathy W. from United Kingdom travelled on 17 May 2016:
The walk far exceeded my expectations. Miguel was an excellent guide. He tailored the walk to the needs and interests of the group.
Mr. Margit T. from Australia travelled on 04 May 2015:
Thanks to Pedro Osorio for the wonderful trip through Lisboa. He was the best guide one can get and we loved at the end of the trip the city, the people and the local food as much as he does. Absolutely perfect!

Fantastic opportunity to experience Lisbon with a local, and to see things that tourists would not usually see. Enjoyed the food tastings, and Our guide Ines was great.
Mr. Anthony N. from United Kingdom travelled on 31 Oct 2014:
Fantastic day, Sophia was a knowledgeable guide, we had a small group and the pace was easy and enjoyable.
Mrs. Barbara S. from travelled on 01 Oct 2014:
Our tour guide (andreia) was awesome in that she knew so much about the culture and could answer any question we threw at her! I think that it should ot be advertised as a 4 hr tour, but more like a 5 hr one, so that people know to really block off their whole day for it, as ours went until about 4:30 pm
Mr. stephen z. from Canada travelled on 24 Jun 2014:
Martha’s knowledge and love for her city really came through
Mr. Colin W. from New Zealand travelled on 21 Jun 2014:
Margarita took us on a lovely tour taking in all the sights as promised. In particular we loved going off the beaten track to explore the less touristy areas. The cakes, coffee, cheese etc tastings were all very yummy and the prawns and fish cakes at the end of the tour were fresh typical fare. We can highly recommend this tour for seeing more of how the locals live and Margarita was full of knowledge when we wanted to know more about anything we saw. She also sent us off at the end of the tour with suggestions of other places to see. Very good value for money
Ms. Jane D. from United Kingdom travelled on 10 Jun 2014:
It was better than our expectations. Had a wonderful day and picked up lots of tips, and tasted some lovely food and drinks.
Mr. Christopher R. from United Kingdom travelled on 23 May 2014:
A very good tour from Andreia, very knowledgeable and enthusiastic, worth the money, thankyou.
Mrs. Patricia L. from USA travelled on 18 May 2014:
We loved every part of the tour, it took us into area’s we had not seen before and this was our third visit to Lisbon. Margarita was a delight to spend the time with, informative without being too “know it all” as some tour guides can be and she was extremely friendly. Have already recommended the tour to others and obviously Urban Adventures we check out now where ever we visit. Thanks, great job.
Mr. Gareth D. from travelled on 15 Apr 2014:
Our Half day with Paulo was fantastic it opened our eyes to Portuguese culture we would not have seen otherwise.
Mr. Barry D. from United Kingdom travelled on 08 Apr 2014:

Ms. Janice M. from Australia travelled on 17 Mar 2014:
A memorable and enjoyable tour. Our guide Paulo was excellent.Nothing was too much trouble.
Mr. Martin H. from Australia travelled on 16 Feb 2014:
“Experience Lisbon Walk” was great! Paulo was very knowledgeable and adjusted to the interests of all of us on the tour. He had great stories and clear explanations of the history and culture of not just Lisbon but also the neighborhoods we were in. His way of interacting with the residents and proprietors, and getting us involved, was particularly enjoyable. The pace was very good and I think we saw far more than what was supposed to be on the tour. Paulo certainly took advantage of the unexpected opportunities – without getting us in trouble.
Ms. Susan C. from United Kingdom travelled on 05 Aug 2013:
Sofia was a knowledgable and enthusiastic guide who interacted with all of us in a most personable way. Would highly recommend this tour.
Mr. michelle P. from France travelled on 17 Feb 2013:
Dommage que je ne parle pas suffisamment l’anglais, mais c’était une matinée trés intéressante
Mr. Glen B. from Australia travelled on 04 Feb 2013:
This tour was simply off-the-scale. It’s difficult to express quite how exceptional Paolo was. His intention from the start was to give those following the tour a true Lisboner’s view of their city and he didn’t seem to leave anything about its history, culture, food, drink, architecture and current affairs out of the picture. A real privilege to have his company on this superb tour and to see a professional at work!
You could easily charge four times the amount for this tour (in London or New York people do, but for poorer equivalents….)
Please pass on my compliments once again.
Mr. Karl z. from Germany travelled on 07 Nov 2012:
An excellent experience with a very lively tour guide. With great pleasure, we would do this again.
Ms. Taylor E. from USA travelled on 24 Sep 2012:
Pedro was our guide for the Experience Lisbon tour, and he could not have been more helpful, friendly, informative, or generally great. My friend and I were the only two people on the tour, which allowed us to get a much more in-depth understanding of Lisbon’s history and the way that people now live in Lisbon. Pedro was more than willing to answer the (many!) questions we had. Our tour wound up taking much longer than the allotted 4 hours, and my friend and I were so appreciative of the fact that Pedro spent more time with us. We loved all of the food tastings, and because we were especially interested in learning more about Portuguese wines, Pedro gave us a very helpful and interesting explanation that he otherwise would not have devoted time to. By the end of the tour, we felt as though we had spent an enjoyable afternoon with a friend rather than a few hours with a city tour guide. Truly excellent experience!
Mr. Robert B. from Australia travelled on 06 Jul 2012:
Took your Lisbon Walking tour with Paulo.
Fantastic, lots of information imparted in a most enjoyable way, plenty of walking, make sure you wear good shoes.
Tried a few Portuguese specialities most enjoyable.
Tour started at 10:30 and full on til about 4:30, much more than expected.
Thanks again Paulo, you are the best
